Question: I have been experiencing ear fluttering for a little over a week. It's not continuous but it does come and go. At this point it is quite distracting. I currently take coumadin and sotalol for AFIB. A few weeks ago my new doctor who replaced my former one, who moved on, cut the dosage I take. After two blood test my INR still shows too little medicine being taken. I can't get to see him until 1/5/15. Can a problem arise before then?

Brief Answer:
Tinnitus can wait. Watch out for cardiac symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Ears fluttering, also called tinnitus or buzzing sound in the ear at age of 80 could be multifactorial, Age related neuronal degeneration of inner ear vestibular apparatus is the most common cause. It could be secondary to any medication you are taking, aspirin and anti arrhythmic like sotalol are notorious for that. It needs otorhinolaryngologist for further correlation.

Your Main concern should be a control of your bleeding profile and compliance with the medicines though as that may lead to complications lethal enough.

As far as tinnitus is concerned you may visit an otorhinolaryngologist and they will decide some remedy for that.

it can wait for january the 5th. There are only 5 days left. I am sure it wont be a problem. if you feel any odd symptom regarding your heart health, rush to ER ASAP.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yoruself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

may the odds be ever in your favour.

Khan
