Suggest Treatment For Foot Injury

Posted on Tue, 7 Mar 2017
Question: This is regarding an injury to my foot/heal. I have been to chiropractor, physical therapy and a podiatrist. Injured running on uneven surface, inside the heal into bottom of arch. (not plantar fasciitis...) It happened 6 months ago and nothing is helping. I am in $800 orthotics and doc keeps saying give it another 4 weeks. No x rays, or MRI's have been done. I have asked, but he wants to keep waiting. It's no better and really painful all the time. Any suggestions?

Brief Answer:
Get MRI foot done

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your query.

In my opinion you should have MRI foot till now, so get it done and send me the report.

Sometimes there occurs small tears or swelling in muscle or ligament in foot, which take time to heal.

I also advise you to have opinion from orthopedic surgeon and discuss all this with him, he will do local examination in detail.

Till then keep on doing what you already do.

Avoid jumping, running etc.

Waiting for your MRI report.

Thanks,

Thank you, my issue is the podiatrist won't order one... tried 3 months ago and he told me just because I want one doesn't mean I need it.

I will see if family doctor can refer to orthopedic and see if I can get somewhere with him and for insurance purposes, get the MRI ordered.
