Suggest Treatment For Fractured Fibula

Question: My daughter, 28 years, 3 months, just broke her fibula, just above the ankle, with the fracture showing 3 lines and a bit of floating fragment on the X-rays. She was dancing with her partner on the street New Year's Eve and did a slow pirouette; her heel caught and she fell, whereupon she stood back up in acute pain and went to an ER.
Should we be concerned that, since this "trauma" was so slight, this is a sign of bone cancer?

Thanks for your query.

Do not worry, this is not a sign of bone cancer. This type of fracture can occur with twisting injury of ankle. It needs immobilization by plaster cast or by surgical fixation, depending upon fracture pattern.
