I for the most part consider myself healthy as I try to eat right and excersise, with the exception of the heart burn. i recently had blood work on my thyroid, came back to be sluggish, was told I possibly was sensitive to Gluten , sex hormone test results came back low, and a micronutrient test , diffeciant in magnesium, copper, zink and b12 from a company "Nuritionally Yours" in Alanta XXXXXXX I have not been to seen a doctor for seven years. I have tried many different natural remedies for the heart burn

Brief Answer:
will guide you with more details

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for consulting HCM.
As heartburn is termed as GERD- gastroesphageal reflux disease.
Before advising you treatment, I need some clarification.

When you are getting the heart burn? Whether in morning/night.
after food or before food?
After what type of food do you feel symptoms?
how long the symptom persist?
Any associated symptoms along with heart burn?

As heart burn will occur after taking fatty, spicy, fried, foods.
In some cases increased acid secretion in stomach will cause heart burn.
As ayurveda (indian traditional medicine)insist to treat the cause not the symptom. So we need to fix which factor inducing heart burn.

So kindly give me the details of your heart burn complaint so that I can guide you well.

Hello Dr.Shenthinathathan,
My symptoms started about a year and a half ago, when I started drinking one alcoholic beverage at night it was a beer and only one per night with no food.

I do not drink alcohol at all now, but still have the symptoms of heartburn.

I get heartburn mostly at night. I do not have any heartburn until I eat food.
I do not take any thing for excess acid like tums ect.
Foods that really upset my stomach our tomato sauce, cheese, milk, salty foods, garlic, hot peppers, bread bread, pasta, soy sauce, garlic, Tumerick, soy sauce, coffee.

I am taking no prescription medicines at this time.

I have taken a few natural supplements,
Actalin, for thyroid support worked well
but irritated stomach. I stopped taking it.
Ashwagonda, really like it but made my stomach upset.stoped taking it.
B12 and other vitamins that caused upset stomach and insomnia. Have stoped taking them.
I thank you in advance for your help,
It is very much appreciated.

Brief Answer:
lifestyle management will help you

Detailed Answer:

Hai,
Thanks for your reply.

As your lifestyle is the main cause for your problem.
As beer contain acid part and the food you mentioned will all precipitate your heartburn problem.avoid beer or any alcoholic content on empty stomach.dont take heavy food in night.dont go bed immediately after food.
Once you withdraw and follow acid free and steamed food with less spicy will help you .

Follow the advise below :
1.Aloe vera juice 30ml twice a day after food is advised .
2.Yashtimadhu capsules- himalaya ayurvedic drug company- 2 capsules twice a day. After food.
3.Himcocid syrup himalaya ayurvedic drug company -10ml after food. Thrice a day.

Avoid untime food,fried,fatty,spicy foods,alcohol.
Take more fiber and green keafy vegetables. Prepare steamed food.

Follow the advice for 1 month. You feel the difference. Depends on that you limit your usual and favourites under control.

Taking medicine is not a permanent solution for any diseases. Lifestyle and diet practice plays major role.

Hope i given an idea. Kindly get back to me if there any clarification.
