Suggest Treatment For Glandular Fever, Sore Throat And Bronchitis

Posted on Mon, 7 Sep 2015
Question: My daughter had her tonsils out 5th December 2014 aged 10.
Everything was great at first but since developing glandular fever back in May...her health has gone down hill. Sore throats.....antibiotics....bronchitis....and I'm sick of it. The poor wee thing has had so much time off school. I keep up with her school work but when XXXXXXX is not feeling well she doesn't want to do work which I totally understand. I'm thinking about going back to our family doctor and maybe get a specialist appointment.
I need some constructive help please.
Cheers XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Your daughter are most probably having recurrent URTI with allergy .

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX ,
Thanks for the query.

I have read your query , reviewed your medications and understand your concern.

After reading your clinical history it appears that your daughter are most probably having recurrent upper respiratory track infection (URTI) with allergy .

After tonsils removal other lymphoid tissue get enlarged & infected mostly adenoid tissue & lingual lymphoid tissue.

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice
consult ENT specialist & rule out adenoid tissue or lingual lymphoid tissue enlargement with infection .

Till then i would advice ,
Use Antiseptic chlorhexidine Mouth Wash twice daily &
anti allergy medication like syrup Xyzal M at night .

She will get relief .

Hope this information helpful to you .If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.
