Suggest Treatment For Growing Pimple On Forehead
Question: Hi doctor I had a pimple on my forehead over my rt eye within the last 24 hrs it's grown in size by at least three times and is red in color my concern is over the 10 hrs aprox 2 to 3 inches around the pimple has become swollen and raised and is slowly heading toward my eye. It is very painful and nothing has seem to work I've tried hot and cold compresses the cold brought the swelling down but came right back I'm concerned because I've been told it is close to my brain and should not just be ignored. Is this something I should be concerned about or is there something I should try that I haven't yet.

Thanks for the query.
Your symptoms suggest that local pus formation has taken place and adjacent red area indicates cellulitis.This would require an examination by the doctor to see whether it can be lanced or not.
In addition to this,you would need a course of antibiotics along with analgesics anti inflammatory medicines to take care of inflammation and pain.
Till you consult the doctor,you can start taking ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day.
There is nothing to worry about it spreading to your brain.
Go to ER and get the work done,since you can not do anything except taking pain killers and local icing.
