Suggest Treatment For Hairline Fracture In Left Ankle
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I had a hairline fracture in my left ankle on May 30, 2014 and the orthopedist put me in a boot for a month. There was nothing wrong with my right leg or ankle. However, after wearing the boot for a month, when my ankle healed and I could put pressure on it, I no longer could walk regularly.
I can't walk fast. I stumble along. I have been to orthopedists and had MRIs of my leg and hip and they find nothing. They said go to therapy and I have gone to about eight sessions and do exercises at home with no change. What do you suggest? Maybe my left leg got longer than my right leg. I went to a chiropractor and that did not help. He suggested I go in a pool each night and just float for a half hour. I could do that since our building in NYC has a pool. Should I do that. Many thanks for any help. I'm at my wit's end.

Brief Answer:
yes you should do pool exercises
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I have studied your case.
This is post traumatic stiffness and pool exercises will help for early achievement of full ankle movement.
Yes you should continue pool exercises but be careful of further fall.
You can also start physiotherapy again like CPM (continuous passive motion)
Theraband exercises can be done under physiotherapists assistance.
I there is associated arthritis then local injection shot may help.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.
