Question: I am 18 female, have a hard, painful to touch, pea sized ball in soft tissue of cheek sbout a half inch above jaw line? Cheek looks a little swollen. What could this be?
Brief Answer:
It could be infection of that area.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, it looks like you have acquired infection of that area . Because of the associated inflammation, it has become hard and tender to touch.
I prescribe Antibiotics like Clindamycin capsule along with Cefuroxime tablet and anti inflammatory tablet to my patients with similar complaints.
If abscess has formed, it has to be drained.
Nothing to worry.
Please consult your Surgeon and get examined clinically and proceed.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
