Brief Answer:
Abscess needs to be drained

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I checked your picture. It is an abscess in the gluteal region. It needs to be drained first followed by packing with gauze piece under antibiotic cover.

You should see a surgeon who can criss cross the skin over the abscess and drain it. This abscess can extend further and bigger. Before it goes to that stage and you lose part of the muscle I suggest to see a surgeon for draining, packing it under antibiotics. Once the drainage is done it takes hardly a week to heal.

This answer should be a good direction for you how to go about.

Brief Answer:
Contact transmission

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

This is not viral, this could be bacterial. Bacteria like Staphylococcus will cause the hair follicle infection and furuncle which can spread to neighboring follicles.

How could the bacteria reach you is very simple, it transmits from person to person, fomites, common surfaces that people touch, public toilets could be main culprits.

Hope this answers. If you do not have anymore queries please close our discussion and rate my answer.
