Brief Answer:
These are known to occur after head injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for getting back.

I have noted that your wife now has headaches and dizziness. These symptoms are known to occur after head injury, and are referred to as post-traumatic headache and vertigo.

She can be started on medications such as Sibelium (Flunarizine) to prevent the recurrent headaches. To relieve the headache, Naprosyn (Naproxen) may be used, as and when she has severe headache.

For treating giddiness, Vertin (betahistine) may be used.

These symptoms usually subside in 4-6 weeks.

Best wishes,

Thank you doctor for the reply.

Will you please tell me what are the after affects of IVH?. Is there any chance of occurrence of fix or stroke in future? As my wife is a nurse, she is continuously worrying about the future!. she is bit short tempered too and getting emotional for very minor reasons.

Brief Answer:
No serious after effects

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

There are no serious after effects of IVH.

There is no risk of stroke. Some people (less than 10%) may develop fits.

She needs to be counseled that there are no serious problems expected in future. So, there is no need to worry.

Best wishes,
