Suggest Treatment For Heart Palpitations
Question: I hAVE been experiencing a rapid heartbeat (around 130 beats per minute, for about 4 days now. I am being treated by my cardiologist with propafenone, and usually it calms down eventually. How long can this rapid rate go on without some kind of damage?
Brief Answer:
Depends on blood pressure and symptoms
Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs,
130 bpm is not very high heart rate. It will not harm unless blood pressure decreases, or you have lightheadedness, dizziness, which mean hemodynamics become unstable.
But if it lasts more than one day, I will advise you to see your doctor or refer to ER. There may be a need for additional medication.
Hope I could help you
Wishing you good health
