Suggest Treatment For Hematoma On Hand Post Injury

Question: I take Plavix blood thinner, am a heart failure patient and diabetic. I am basically good though. I hit my hand this morning and a large hematoma appeared on the back of my hand. I put ice on it, it continued to grow, but seems to be slowing in size. It covers approximately 1/3 of the back of my hand. My husband wants me to go to ER, that seems overkill. What should I do? Thank you very much

Limb elevation and Gel Thromophob helps

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. My suggestion are-
1. Compression elastic bandage (crepe bandage), limb elevation along with Ice application helps.
2. For pain you may have drug Ibuprofen and trypsin/chymotrypsin (prescription only) to reduce swelling. Vitamin C also helps.
3. Local application of Thrombophob gel also helps.
Wishing you early recovery.
Regards
