Suggest Treatment For High BP And Muscle Weakness

Some time past, let say 6 months past i had very high blood pressure which
caused me Partial Paralysis and i was hospitalized for about 4 days and got
discharged. I had series of Heart scan test, liver function test and brain scan test.
After all these test i was told that my liver is not functioning proper and that
my heart has enlarged. I was prescribed with the following medications: AMEP,
GENPRESS, TARDYFERON 80MG and Aspégic 100mg with ATORFIT. I am
having muscle weakness and tiredness to do things and also i feel discomfort
and hot in my heart and around my hands. The doctor said i should continue with
the above drugs, please what should i do and what exactly is wrong with me.
Faithfully,
Yours XXXX
Possibly due to tadiferon, if possible stop it
Detailed Answer:
hi XXXX
i have read your query
i am still unaware of the brain scan report
so i am not sure whether you have a stroke.
the symptoms you have stated, specially the tiredness comes from atorfit
this is basically atorvastatin, and a basic side effect of this is myalgia.
if there is no dyslipidemia or high cholesterol, I would suggest stopping it.
But since I dont know the complete status, visiting your treating physician with that possibility is important.
Some of the symptoms may also be due to the iron tablets. I will need to know your hemoglobin. if its normal, avoiding it may be important.
As I need more information, I cannot tell exactly if you should stop the medicines or not, but these 2 medicines may be causing the symptoms you have.
Best of luck

Thank you for the useful answer. The brain scan report indicated that
i had partial stroke, that i had blockage of blood flow in the brain . Please
can you advise me the type of test i should do. Is there any other drug
i should take or are there test i should do to enable me stop the medication.
Yours faithfully,
XXXX
continue the atorvastatin tablet
Detailed Answer:
I would suggest, in view of that information, that you continue the atorvastatin tablet along with the antiplatelets.
However, I still dont understand the reason iron tablets have been started. Unless hemoglobin was low, it is not needed for plain stroke.
I hope that the information helps.
Feel free to contact me for more information.
As for further test, I have no idea about prior tests, so it is quite difficult to suggest additional tests. I would recommend complete hemogram, kidney function test with electrolytes, lipid profile, echocargiography and cv doppler test.
I hope that the information helps.
Best of luck
