Suggest Treatment For Hrmochromatosis
Question: I have no symptoms or problems but my gastroenterologist told me my liver enzymes area little high. I have hemochromatosis. Do you have any recommendations on how to remedy this?
Brief Answer:
Prevention of further liver damages is advised
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Hrmochromatosis is iron overload of liver. This is because too much iron is being absorbed by the intestines. It will alter liver fuction. That's why your liver enzymes (TA) are high.
The very first thing is to prevent further liver damage. Diet changes are very important to optimize TA .
Avoid
- red meat
- alcohol
- foods high in carbohydrates
I encourage to consume more coffee or tea as they will inhibit iron absorption.
To my opinion, you should consult with your doctor to set the right treatment strategy : if you Should go for blood extraction or chelation therapy.
All the best!
