Question: I've had regular heavy periods for a year, every 28 days on the dot. This past cycle was 35 days and just discharge, brown, stringy and flakey. Could this me pre menopause? Pregancy could not be a factor.

Brief Answer:
Hormonal dysfunction should be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Scanty flow during the periods and delayed periods can be due to pregnancy, stress or hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism.
Since pregnancy is ruled out, then thyroid hormones levels should be checked.
Pre menopausal period generally do not presents like this, there are delayed periods with heavy flow in that scenario.
I will suggest you to get your thyroid hormone levels done and get further treatment accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
