Suggest Treatment For Hypothyroidism During Pregnancy

Question: Hi Doctor,
Me and my wife got to know about pregnency just a week back after testing at home.
we went to doctor, she prescribed sum test and in test it was found TFH3rd generation value as 17.630
Doctor prescribed thronorm 50mcg from today. I am worried about my wife's helath as well as baby's health. please suggest what to do.

I understand your concerns about hypothyroidism.

Hypothyroidism is a condition which affects pregnancy and might lead to abortion if uncorrected.

TSH value of 17 is high as normal value should be less than 5.

It is good to know that your doctor has started you on thyronorm. This will protect baby. Don't worry.

Please continue the same and repeat TSH after one week.
