Suggest Treatment For Infection Around Stitches Inside The Mouth And Lip
Seems like Infection and inflammation at the site of stitches..
Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have read your question in detail and can understand your concerns..
As per your presentation of symptoms it seems like there is persisting infection at the site of stitches leading to inflammation and swelling as well as grey white stuff..
The watery discharge can be tissue fluid mixed with slight blood and you need not to worry as it will gradually subside as healing will proceed..
You can continue taking the antibiotics (Erythromycin) which is advised to you by your doctor that you are already taking, along with it take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin) or Naproxen (Aleve) as it will help in reducing inflammation..
Continue doing warm saline gargles and mouthwash gargles..
You can wrap a piece of ice in a clean cotton cloth and gently do cold compresses over the site of stitches and it will help in reducing swelling..
One more thing that I would like you to do is get your Blood sugar levels checked both empty stomach and post meal..
Continue the same for atleast 3 to 4 days and if you see improvement then gradually healing will proceed while if you see no improvement consult your doctor for a clinical evaluation so that if you require more of antibiotics he can advise you accordingly..
Any further questions or queries and most welcome.. I will be very happy to help..
Hope this information helps..
Wishing you sooner recovery..
Thanks and regards.
