Suggest Treatment For Inflamed Papillae Under The Tongue

Question: HI, are inflamed (and painful) papillae (on the underside of my tongue) a sign of acute HIV infection - 2 weeks since a possible exposure - am I sercoconverting?

Without testing for HIV, acute infection can not be labelled.

Thanks for posting your query.
There is nothing like to say that one is on HIV Primary infection with one or two vague symptoms alone.
HIV test with either P24 antigen or DNA PCR only, anybody can be labelled as the individual is having primary or acute infection in HIV disease. Moreover Primary HIV manifestations can occur usually after 3-4 weeks. So your tongue problem occur 2 weeks after high risk contact is quite unlikely to due to Acute infection.
Wait for another a week and have a HIV antigen test under the guidance of your physician and get ruled out the possibility of HIV.

I can appreciate the confirmation that comes with testing. However, are swollen taste buds ("lie bumps") typically associated with ARS? The main symptoms described by literature and practitioners are fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes and thrush - but there is no mention of swollen taste buds?
