Question: My husband has an impacted sweat gland on the back of his neck. It has grown in size recently and is now very painful. Is there anything I can do to relieve the pain until I can get him in to see the doctor?

Please continue apply heating pad.
Give him an anti-inflammatory with painkiller properties like Ibuprofen.
Please see if you have any leftover antibiotics or painkillers which suit him or might have taken in past.

Movements of the neck should be restricted to give rest so that pain is minimized.
