Question: I just developed an inguinal hernia-no pain or obstruction. I am an 83 yr old retired oncologist. Should I try a truss support or go right to a surgeon?

Brief Answer:
It's better to consult a Surgeon.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
It's better to consult a Surgeon.
As you know, there are no medicines for hernia. Surgery is the only option.
Last week, I operated a 87 year old man with inguinal hernia. He recovered very well.
In order to prevent complications, it is better to get operated .
If you are not fit for surgery, you can use truss.
Hope I answered your query.
If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
