Question: Hi....I think I saw ants in my stools today morning and I a, worried sbout it.....what do I do. Ow. What steps do I take to confirm my doubts. Should I be visiting a doctor. If so, which doc do I need to go to.

I have gone through your question and understnd your concern.
Finding ants in stool is something very strange unless there is history of ingesting them. Probably you saw worms in your stool. Passage of worms in stool are not uncommon and indicates worm infestation in gastrointestinal tract. Patients complaining of such symptoms also have abdominal pain and altered stool sometimes. Single tablet of albendazole followed by another after 1 week should be very effective. For pain abdomen, I generally suggest drotavarine or decolic tablets. Also, keep a watch on your stool. If you keep seeing similar insects or worms after the course of medicine too, consult a physician or a specialist like gastroenterologist.
