I've had this for 10days, I picked the first scab off on day 1. Today is day 10.
Brief Answer:
a biopsy is recommended
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
there is suspicion because of the different colors and irregular shape, although their size seems to be very small (you haven't mentioned it). Although I'm not a dermatologist, I would have referred a patient like you for a biopsy.
Kind Regards!

Yes, it's 3mm. My family dr has referred me to have it removed which is 3 months away. I'm worried about it and think I'll be finding a different doctor to see if something can be done sooner.
Brief Answer:
you'd better do it as soon as possible
Detailed Answer:
Although most moles are proven to be benign, you'd better do it as soon as possible.
Best wishes!

Does it look serious?
Brief Answer:
when there is even the slightest chance of malignancy, it is serious!
Detailed Answer:
The picture is suspicious but the dermatologist who's going to assess this in a clinical encounter is the best person to do so and evaluate the risk of malignancy.
Since there are some 'features' of malignancy, this is serious! The sooner you get a diagnosis the better for your treatment options in the future (if it is indeed a malignant mole).
Kind Regards!

I was able to use a q tip and remove the dark area. Now it looks pink all around with a center, are there still suspicions? It just looks so different than what I've seen compared to other malignant moles. I know seeing a dermatologist is best and I'm waiting to get in.
Brief Answer:
yes...
Detailed Answer:
You've got to understand that even the greatest picture cannot compare with a real look at the lesion. The mole does have some suspicious features and you'd better test it, than doubt. Of course the dermatologist who's going to assess it in person, would be able to tell. Don't look at internet pictures, it's not easy even for dermatologists sometimes!
Kind Regards!

This is how it looks today. I'm back to thinking it's healing. I see a dr next week.
Brief Answer:
Next week is OK
Detailed Answer:
The last picture is not very detailed as the previous ones. I still believe it should be examined and keep in your mind that a close examination is much better than photographs and that you can't make a diagnosis from the way a lesion looks like except in very evident cases (not yours!).
So getting it examined in a week seems like a rational decision. The three month period does not!
Kind Regards!

This is the last photo! Thank you for your responses! It has calmed me down
Brief Answer:
I'm glad you've calmed down... but don't forget to check it!
Detailed Answer:
I've seen the last photo. It seems that the scab has fallen off. Don't cancel your next week appointment!
Best regards!
