Suggest Treatment For Irritation In Throat Along With Cough
Question: I am having irritation in the throat with cough formation. It causes problem mostly during the night. I have to cough frequently for relief

1. Your history is suggestive of a Post Nasal Drip (PND).
2. Throat irritation, increasing at night and frequent throat clearing are suggestive of PND. The other causes with similar symptoms include acid reflux, chronic bronchitis, chronic sinusitis, sleep apnea with snoring & mouth breathing, allergy/ eosinophilia and drug induced (such as anti-hypertensives).
3. You need examination of these areas and initial medication will consist of an anti-allergic, mucolytic, a medicated gargle, steam inhalation and a cough suppressant syrup. Blood tests to rule out allergy and eosinophilia, with an AEC (Absolute Eosiniophil Count) an a review of any current medication such as for high blood pressure. A Chest X-ray should be done.
4. Avoid foods that increase phlegm.

is zeedex ok or any other medicine
