Suggest Treatment For Itching And Clavicle Pain

default
Posted on Wed, 1 Apr 2015
Question: Hi, I'm a 24 year old female who is itching all over all my body. Sometimes the itching feels like pins and needles. Last week, I had a dull underarm pain and a stinging shoulder and clavicle pain, on my right side. I had put some topical analgesic cream under my underarm and that made the underarm pain leave and I had took some acetaminophen to help the shoulder and clavicle pain and it went away. I started to itch all over my body after had put the topical analgesic under my arm. Ever since I had put the topical analgesic under my arm, I have been itching everywhere on my body sometimes with pins and needles feeling. The itching feels better when I move around. I also have been taking aspirin. Not too sure if it is working or not, since I have been moving around to help ease the itching.

I want to correct that I actually had the dull ache pain under my left underarm and left stinging pain in shoulder and left clavicle early last week. Those pain had went away, after taking the acetaminophen and topical analgesic. I had also started itching last week after I applied the topical analgesic. I cannot remember if I ate anything or not. I think my itching started after I had woke up after applying the topical analgesic. I'm not sure if I'm allergic to anything that I ate. I don't recall eating anything that would make me have some kind of allergic reaction to. I have never had this kind of itching reaction before, this is the first time. I do not have any illness, but my grandmother had diabetes and my father has high blood pressure. I'm not on any medication either. There is no rashes either. Also, there is no pain, just itching and a little bit of pins and needles feeling, with some tingling over my body. There is no other symptoms besides the itching.

Brief Answer:
Most probably an allergic response

Detailed Answer:
hello

thank you for the answers. I have gone through them. Your symptoms are most probably due to allergic reaction that might be in response to some drug or insect bite. such responses takes few days to settle. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following things:

- cetirizine one at night for 5 days.
- try not to scratch more else it might leave scar.
- don't take shower with very hot water.
- if possible then get a baseline ECG done.

Hopefully you will see improvement in 2-3 days but if condition remains same or aggravates then visit hospital.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
