Suggest Treatment For Itchy Rashes And Blotchy Welts On Wrist, Arms And Torso
Question: Itchy surface rash, similar to Hives, apparently stimulated internally, began on right wrist and morphed over a period of ten days to cover both arms, torso, etc. with blotchy welts. Itchy area diminishes in intensity as new areas develop. Treatment with anti-histamines has been minimally helpful; Solumedrol (Sp?) seemed to have best results. Early stage blood sample tested for Lyme was negative.
Brief Answer:
Can you send images to me?
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this rash that you have reported. I will like to have an image and review for this because it will be very helpful in determining what the cause is. With this rash being responsive to solumedrol, chances are high that this might be related to an allergy.
I hope this sets a good stage for us to talk on. I look forward to hear from you and promise to respond promptly.

Thanks for responding so quickly; we don't have the capability of forwarding photo images. Presently the itchy stage has passed but some swelling exists around the mouth and on the left hand. Perhaps the new meds have had a good result. We were pretty sure that an allergy might be the root cause but were wondering if there are other conditions that present as we had described.
