Brief Answer:
Recovery will be slow

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.
I have gone through your father's medical history in detail.

It seems that he suffered a recurrence episode of polymyositis for which he was hospitalised.

Usually, polymyositis ,as such takes a long time for recovery.
The recovery period depends on the patient's age, his overall health and immunity.

At 64 years of age, your father's immunity as a whole is reduced and he will definitely recover, but the recovery process will be slow and may take 1-2 months for complete recovery.

Meanwhile, you can get his blood checked for complete hemogram, serum electrolytes, serum proteins and calcium to rule out any other underlying causes of weakness.

Being bed ridden, the digestion problems are bound to happen leading to constipation and anorexia.

Start him on hematinics, calcium and multi vitamin supplements.
Laxatives daily at bed time will treat constipation.
Digestive tonics can help digestion and anorexia.

Physiotherapy and rehabilitation is most important part of treatment protocol.

Avoid taking steroids for long periods.

I hope the answer was useful.

Feel free to ask me any follow up queries that you may have.

Thank you.
Kind regards.

Brief Answer:
He is recovering,don't worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Looking at his CPK levels,he is showing good signs of improvement.

No need to panic.

Just keep a watch on his blood pressure, respiration and give a good physiotherapy.

Repeat blood tests at regular intervals to ensure that he is recovering well from within.

Be in touch with your doctor.

Thanks
