Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic forum.

I understand from your query that your are concerned about a rash your husband has developed.

From your brief history and description, I would consider the possibilities of -
1. Herpes zoster - This is due to the reactivation of a virus which causes chicken pox. It is common in elderly and is seen as blisters along the course of a nerve on one side of the body.

2. Drug ( medicines newly started in the hospital) induced reactions - A new medicine started in the hospital during his current admission could cause a reaction which can present as blisters.

3. Bullous pemphigoid - This is an auto-immune disorder commonly seen in the elderly age group. It presents with itching and blisters which could rupture to form erosions.

Please do let me know which are the body areas affected by the rash?

Is it only on one side of the body?
