Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us
I am dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query and i have noted your concern.
Fungal infection usually presents with ring shaped / round / oval / annular lesions. The lesion tends to extend / expand peripherally with a raised, red margin with central clearing. Fungal infections are more common in body folds like axilla, groin, submammary folds etc where sweat, heat and humidity favor the growth of fungus.
I request you to kindly upload a few images of your skin rash in " Reports Section " so that i am able to guide you better.

could this be lichen I had it on my body years ago
Brief Answer:
moisturiser and topical steroid ointment
Detailed Answer:
Thank you.
I have viewed the image.
I would keep a possibility of either eczematous dermatitis or lichenoid dermatitis.
Use a moisturiser frequently. In addition i suggest you to apply a potent topical steroid e.g either clobetasol proportionate 0.05% ointment or halobetasol propionate 0.05% ointment. These are prescription topical steroids and you must use them under supervision of your family physician.
Also i suggest you to take a tablet of cetrizine 10mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.
