Even though I am a physician, I (and my brother's oncologist) did not know where they were located until I talked with someone from the Kidney Cancer Association. The people at the Kidney Cancer Association were extremely helpful in providing information about where to find a kidney cancer oncologist. They can also provide you with information about typical protocols for treatment.
