Suggest Treatment For Knee Pain And Hip Pain
Question: I hurt my knee I think exercising..it hurts sometimes feels like it will buckle, it feels like it is hurt inside on the side of the knee. I can bend it. I was experiencing pain in my hips (which are replacements) so I went to my ortho and breifly mentioned by knee but focused on my hips (which are OK per the xray). It is affecting my left hind area. I am going to my primary wed. I will be on my feet alot tomorrow at work. I have taken ibuprophen and tylnenol. Today I used a cane on the opposite side. What should I do in the meantime?
Brief Answer:
use knee support, take rest
Detailed Answer:
Dear Jobdell, welcome to HCM and thanks for choosing us.
I share your concerns about your knee pain. It looks like you have injured your knee ligaments due to some twisting while exercising. Since you can bend your knee, so injury in my opinion is not very severe. You need to observe following till you visit your primary doctor
Use knee support which is appropriate for your size
Keep taking pain killers as they have anti inflammatory properties too.
Give rest to the affected limb by moving less, using stick support
I hope my reply will help you. Please write to us for more information and follow up queries. I wish you good health and rapid recovery.
