Suggest Treatment For Knee Pain

Question: My two year old granddaughter is complaining of knee pain. No history of trauma....no objective symptoms. What to do? Just observe?

Hello

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. It can be due to multiple causes like muscle spasm, unintentional trauma, etc. If i were her treating doctor then i would have advised following things:

- Acetaminophen suspension thrice a day for 2 days
- put warm compression over knee. it will give soothing effect

Observe closely her knee. If there is any redness, swelling, symptoms aggravate or persists after 1-2 days then you need to take her to hospital for further workup.
