Suggest Treatment For Lichen Planus

Question: Hi Doctors, my wife 31 years old and she has black colour patches inside the cheek. Appears on both the side and the skin on the last tooth edge seems cracked. Visited dermatologist an year back and they conducted biopsy test and couldn't find any issues. It's been an year and we feel it's spreading further and dermatologist recommended to use the methosone tablet, it didn't seem help either since last 4 weeks of use. This similar spots were previously noticed in vagina area but it seems controlled but inside mouth is not. Any suggestions here? I'm really worried as it's not getting better.

Brief Answer:
Use kenacort
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow up and photograph.
It is lichen planus an autoimmune disorder.
I treat such cases with a topical steroid preparation.
She can apply kenacort oral paste thrice daily for a month.
She should also take vitamin C 500 mg daily for the same duration.
This should help her.
This is a benign condition and will not cause any harm to her.
It will not result in cancer.
Just relax.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you

Hi
Thanks, I'll buy her Vitamin C tablets.
My wife js currently using Dexmethasone (streroid tablets) and she had used Kenalog which i hope similar to Kenacort. Since she already using / used the above... is there any anything else to be given a try? Or Did I mention anything different to what you have recommended?
Thanks

Hello
Thanks for the follow up.
It's same but kenacort is better.
Just let her try it for a month.
No need to take dexamethasone.
Oral steroids might harm her.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
