Suggest Treatment For Light Headedness And Mild Pins And Needles Sensation
Question: Sometime feel light headed with mild pins and needles in left hand. It lasts a minute or two, what could be the cause? Thanks

There are a couple of possibilities that need to be considered with that set of symptoms
1. Cervical myeloopathy with nerve compression= this is a common syndrome where the patient develops some spinal problem. The bones of the spine are compressed or altered and the gaps through which the nerve comes out is compressed. This can cause a variety of symptoms (not all of which need to be present) such as pain, tingling, numbness and paresthesias in the affected limb.
2. Brachial plexitis or neuropathy- The nerves that supply to the affected limb are damaged by some kind of disease. The nerves therefore cause similar problems
3. TIA: this is like a XXXXXXX stroke. The blood supply to the brain may be getting affected that may be causing the problems intermittently. They are short duration symptoms and improve completely between the episodes.
I will suggest the following tests-
MRI Brain with screening of the spine
NCV of the affected limbs
Carotid Doppler
The tests can be done in that order one by one. All of them need not be done together
