Suggest Treatment For Lightheadedness And Fainting Feeling
Likely to be due to transient reduction in brain blood flow.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
The light headedness is likely to be due to transient decrease in blood flow to certain parts of the brain.
He is wearing the heart monitor to know if there is any abnormal heart rhythm causing a reduction in the blood flow.
Another possible cause, especially if the light headedness is related to him getting up from a lying or siting posture can be due to a drop in the blood pressure at this time of changed posture. It may also be related to persistent decrease in blood pressure during certain times of the day. If that were the reason, it may be picked up by an ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. He can trigger an additional BP measurement when he has the symptom, to record the BP at that particular moment.
Cervical spondylosis with decrease in the blood flow through the vertebrobasilar system is another common cause of dizziness.
If you can upload the result of his heart monitoring, I shall be happy to interpret it and give my opinion as to whether that is the cause.
Best wishes,
Welcome
