Question: I HAVE BEEN LIGHT HEADED AND GET REALLY HOT IN MY ARMS AND LEGS AND FACE. IT MAKES ME A LITTLE NAUSEOUS. MY FAMILY DOCTOR IS DOING A LOT OF BLOOD TESTS AND SO FAR ALL IS NORMAL EXCEPT FOR A LITTLE HIGH A1C. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS TO HELP.

THE SYMPTOMS ARE WHY I WENT TO THE ER ON SATURDAY. I HAD SUDDEN SEVERE DIZZINESS AND WAS NAUSEOUS. THEY GAVE ME DOXYCYCLINE BECAUSE I MENTIONED I HAD BEEN BITTEN BY A TICK ABOUT TWO MONTHS EARILER. I HAVE HAD REALLY BAD ALLERGIES FOR ABOUT A MONTH, COULD THAT CAUSE SUDDEN DIZZINESS AND NAUSEA. I AM FEELING A LOT BETTER EXCEPT SOME LIGHT HEADEDNESS. DOES DOXYCYCLINE CAUSE LIGHT HEADEDNESS. MY BP IS GOOD, I AM ON A SMALL AMOUNT OF BP MEDS. MY HBA1C IS 5.6. THYROID ALSO GOOD.

So if all the above mentioned (thyroid, blood pressure) are excluded than your symptoms are due to allergy reaction you had 2 months ago or due medications of the allergy ( if you have been taking, especially antihistamines).
Doxacycline can cause headache or nausea too.
