Suggest Treatment For Looping Of Colon
Question: Had a colonoscopy aborted per the doctor due to significant looping of the colon. There has never been this problem before. Have had constipation problems for over a year with no results from laxatives prescribed by the GI doctor. My stomach just keeps getting larger and larger. Also my stomach is inflamed, has been for approximately four years with no results in diagnosis or a resolution. What can be done? I am frustrated and miserable. Had to push for a follow up appointment on the 5th of Sept.
(I don't know how to upload) Doctors could only do a partial wrap as my esophagus only works 50% of the time.
Endoscopy reports states; Scalloped mucosa found in the duodenum, biopsied
Erthematous mucosa in the gastric body and antrum. Biopsied
Z-line regular
Dilation in the lower third of the esophagus
I have had two hernia repairs.
I just need an answer as to what would be the cause of the loops in my colon and what can be done. This constipation, bloating with gas is hurting. there is pressure on the diaphram which causes shortness of breath and hic-coughs. I eat small meals 4-5 per day. Elevate the head of my bed. Stay away from acid foods. Just to lean forward it feels like everything is coming back up. ( I am also hypoglycemic and have manere's disease so I watch the salt).

As you have stated about your chronic constipation, that may be one of them.
Diet process seems to be right, just add as much fibers as you can, Fruits, soups and plenty of oral fluids.
While waiting for your reports you should take proton pump inhibitors with pro kinetics empty stomach, with may be change in your type of laxative might improve your present condition. A hot water bag fomentation on the abdominal area gives some relief to few individuals as well.
Hope you have been investigated for any respiratory ailment as well for short of breath, if not please go through the same by asking your doctor.
Once your doctor gets biopsy report he will be in a better position to answer your queries.
