Suggest Treatment For Lower Back And Neck Pain
![default](/r/images/default.png)
In 1966 I fell from a telephone pole and landed in a setting position. The pain in my lower back was unbelievable. I was told at the time that I would be alright and the pain would subside. No treatment or therapy was given. In August of 1967 I was involved in a about a thirty mile an hour rear end collusion
In this accident I received injury to my neck and lower back and again I was told the the pain would subside. In August of 1968 I was still having pain in my neck and lower back so I had x rays taken. Again no treatment or therapy given. For the next forty years I suffered with neck and lower back pain.In 2005 It was determined that I was 100% disabled with back problems. These are the only two injuries I ever received to my back. Just recently I went to a neurosurgeon about my neck pain. He said that after looking at my x rays his recommendation would be to fuse my neck with a 50% chance of success or steroid injections .Here's my question Could the two accident's I had cause the life time pain I suffered with in my lower back and neck.
Can be due to accidents.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The two accidents that you had were severe enough to cause a back injury and a disc compression causing a nerve root compression. It can cause a persistent pain and disability. At that time there were no MRI scans to detect the damage to the disc and the nerves. Since the pain that you have is debilitating, it is best to get the neck surgery done to decrease the nerve root compression and hence the pain.
I hope this answers your query.
