Question: Hit by cricket ball on forehead .a small lump formed. No big symtoms but left eye is slightly having some discomfort.wht should I do?
Brief Answer:
need some more clarification
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I will need some more information about the query.
You have not mentioned your age and also where exactly you have been hit on forehead?
Is it just above the left eye?
Did you had any dizziness after getting hit?
Any nausea or vomiting?
Discomfort in eye as in any blurring of vision?
Or any floaters or black spots?
Most probably it will be because of the pressure effect caused by the swelling on the eye which should subside on itself.
Apply ice to the swelling so it will reduce the inflammation.
Take tab ibuprofen to relieve the pain and inflammation.
Waiting for your reply for above questions.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
then do not worry. it will go away with the swelling
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for following up with me and answering all my questions.
If it is already 5 days and there was no other complaints you had then it is because of the swelling that is formed on forehead.
The stretching is causing this discomfort as the skin over forehead is tight and streching occurs causing discomfort if any swelling occurs.
I would like to advice you to continue ice application and taking anti inflammatory medications as reduction of the swelling will cause the discomfort to go away.
It might take another 2 or 3 days to reduce the swelling fully.
Do not apply any heat to it so as to increase the swelling.
Both the lump and discomfort should go away together. But in case if it doesn't then kindly consult your doctor for detailed examination of any cause which needs clinical examination only. Mostly it won't be required but still rare chances that it doesn't go away.
I hope i have answered your query well.
If you have any more query kindly write back to me will be happy to answer them.
Thank you
