Suggest Treatment For Lump On Testicle

default
Posted on Fri, 22 Jan 2016
Question: I have had this small lump on my right top testicle for many years, maybe 4-5. I first had it looked at, and was told to come back if it grew or got any unusual pain, but I never did. He never diagnosed it though. It seems more like a bubble that is hard, squeezing doesn't hurt just feels like i'm squeezing my testicle no more than that. Form what I saw this could be a spermatocele, that is what the pictures look the most like. Does that sound right? Plan on going to doctors next week, make sure no Cancer.

Brief Answer:
It can be spermatocele or an epididymal cyst and requires ultrasound

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. It is probable that there is some fluid collection or a similar condition in the epididymis which is a structure found in the scrotum and separately from the testis. This can be a spermatocele and you are probably right. Other conditions can include a cyst in the epididymis or a small hydrocele.

2. A confirmed diagnosis requires an ultrasound scan and this will help to see clearly the area which is causing the lump. Therefore it looks like a benign cystic swelling to me.

3. Cancer is less likely is it is a small lump and been there for 5 years. Please get an ultrasound scan of scrotum next week and things will be confirmed.

Hope your query is answered.
