Suggest Treatment For Lump On The Left Hand

Question: wife,36 years old,noticed a lump on her left hand palm top 3 years before.Not sure if it happened after delivery second child who is 3.5 years.
The lump hasn't grown in size,but it used to give discomfort at times.Since a few days now,she is having ache on her palm very frequently almost most of the time. attached the pics.
yesterday her left hand index finger started to tick for some 30 second s and didnt stop even after holding with the other hand.

what can be the possible cause?.what would you suggest as a diagnosis...

From the history and the pictures this looks to be a ganglion. This is a cyst that develops into the tendons or from the synovial membrane of the joint.
The ticks in the index finger could have been incidental or due to stress or as the the lump is on the tendon of the index finger could have instigated the nerve or the tendon itself.

I would advise in such a case the following:
Consult your Orthopedic Surgeon and follow his advise.
