Suggest Treatment For Lung Cancer

Posted on Tue, 30 May 2017
Question: Hi,
Three blood tests since January show pancytopenia. I had a duodenal mass which was said to be benign. Last week a mass was discovered in my lower left lung 8-9 mills. I have also lost 25-30 lbs in a year. I would never dochemo or radiation. I am 63, was a heavy smoker tho I quit in 1997. My mother also had lung cancer but they caught it early and she lived into her 80's. I am completely fine with dying. I think I have colon cancer but cannot get a colonoscopy. I want to get diagnosed and staged the cheapest and quickest way possible. Thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Fibrobronchoscopy and PET ct

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in HCM

I have gone carefully through your concern and i can understand your concern

According to the history you can start getting diagnosis from lungs with the following examinations :

CT scan of the lungs (if you haven't done it yet) .

And after that with taking a biopsy of the lung mass.If the mass is peripheral located the biopsy should be taken by trans paretial fine needle aspiration (TPFNA) from a radiologist specialist.

If it is centrally located than through the fibrobronchoscopy should be taken the biopsy by pulmonologist doctor.
According to the pathologist result should be the type of mass.
For staging you should do abdominal and head CT scan or all body PET CT to detect for metastases in distance.

These are the steps you should follow.

You can discuss with your doctor for the above in order h/she help you for the fast and cheap way to do that examinations.

I wish you a fast recovery

Regards
