Question: My penis foreskin got rashes n fungal infection. Please advice what to do and I am newly married and how to check whether my wife has infection also ?
Brief Answer:
You can use anti fungal ointments.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. For fungal infection you can use anti fungal ointments like miconazole. This is available in brands like Zole f.
If your wife has it she should be having itching sensation or thrush. In that case you can ask her to use this also.
Diabetics are usually at risk of fungal infection.
Keep the area dry. Use cotton underwear. Avoid under wear while sleeping. You can use warm water to wash the foreskin area. Avoid soaps and irritants as it can irritate more.
Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
For fungal infection you have to use anti fungal for 1 to 2 weeks.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.
Thank you for your follow up query.
For fungal infection you have to use the anti fungal medications for 1 to 2 weeks. As you are getting some improvement while applying canestan it is most likely fungal infection. But canestan is not that effective. You can use miconazole (zole F) which is more effective. This you an use for 2 weeks. Same time you can ask your wife to use this also. Taking oral anti fungal agents like fluconazole tablet weekly once for 1 month is more effective along with topic medications also.
Check your blood sugar levels whether it is well controlled. If blood sugar is not controlled then also you can get recurrent fungal infection.
If there is no improvement then you can go for STD tests like swab test or urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Blood tests for syphilis (VDRL) , and HIV Duo test. These tests will rule out any possibility of STDs.
