Brief Answer:
Calamine lotion
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Does the rash itch ?
Is it spreading ?
I would like to have a look at the rash. Please do attach a picture of the rash here on this page.
Meanwhile do ask your friend to apply Calamine lotion like CALASOFT over the rash. This prevents the spread and prevents darkening.

Brief Answer:
Thats a contusion
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the information.
I have gone through the picture.
It appears to be a contusion due to the injury. There is no need for any sort of management. It will fade off on its own, though it may leave a bit of discoloration.
Let him apply antibiotic cream like Bactroban first for better healing of the wound and later after it is healed let him apply calamine lotion to prevent discoloration.
Wish you good health.
