Suggest Treatment For Mild Heartburn While Having GERD

Question: HI I was prescribed a proton pump medication for GERG. I was having night time attacks where acid would come up to my throat.

I stopped drinking tea and do not need the medication to stop this bad of of reflux but I still get mild hearburn in the lower half of my esophagus.

Should I keep taking the medication?

I read carefullyall yourconcerns and I cansay as follows:
1. you are reporting to have Gerd and you have been improved after stopping tea . this is a good XXXXXXX
2. But since you are reporting to have heartburn than you should cobtinue to use PPi.
It is important to do both of them:
take a healthy diet and take the medication.
you should use PPI up to 8 weeks ; after that you can stop them.

Hi back
If you still have heartburn than you should continue use PPI only in the evening before bet time for 3 weeks.
after that you can stop PPI's use.

Don't worry.

In cases of GERD, there is no limit time of use for PPI's.
It depends on the symptoms of the patients.
So you can continue to use PPI's 1 tab per night.
