Suggest Treatment For Mild Soreness In The Nose

default
Posted on Mon, 4 May 2015
Question: Hi, I had a pretty hard fall against cement awhile ago and busted my top lip (around 24 hours ago). I have a couple of questions regarding it. It's swollen from the top underneath my nose to underneath the lip inside of my mouth, but the top part has been numb ever since and is still numb. I was wondering what caused this numbness and how long it would take to go away, and ultimately heal? I've been putting Neosporin on all day. Also, I don't think I hit my nose too bad because it doesn't hurt when I don't touch it and hasn't been bothering me, however when I do touch it or move it, it is a little sore. Also, when I sniff hard, it's almost as if I can feel the same impact as the impact when my face hit the cement, but it doesn't hurt. If that makes sense? However, there are no cuts or anything on my nose, as if it never got hit. I appreciate the response.

Brief Answer:
not to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to healthcaremagic,

I have seen the pics you sent me and the swelling is mild and will come down completely in a couple of days. Once the swelling comes down, the numbness will also go away.

If there is no swelling in the nose area then there is no need to worry about it, The mild soreness in the nose will also disappear in a day or two.

Take care,
Dr Rajkishori Godhi (MS ENT)
