Suggest Treatment For Muscle Spasms In Neck And Back
Parkinsons?
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM
I am not sure exactly why a doctor would tell him he has Parkinson's disease. To make the diagnosis of Parkinson's he should have a tremor of the hands that occur only when he is resting his hands. He will also have difficulty walking. He will start slow and then gradually increase his speed almost like falling. He will also have no arm swing while walking. Another manifestation is his face is not showing any emotion. We call it mask face. If he has these symptoms then he could have Parkinson's disease. There is no other tests that can be done to confirm Parkinson's.
For my Parkinson's patients I have them do exercise. Tai Chi is a good exercise that improves balance and stamina. As far as golf is concerned I have a patient that has advanced Parkinson's and is able to play a great game of golf. Playing golf is a good exercise again that will help him.
I am not sure what his spasms are from. I recommend that he be seen by a neurologist from a major hospital associated with a medical school.
