Suggest Treatment For Muscles Spasms In The Arm After Injury
Icing it , massages with topical gels , arm sling will be helpful for the first 3 to 5 days .
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
I am Dr Ahmed Aly, Orthopedician,
Thanks for asking at HealthcareMagic ,
I've gone through your question and understand your concerns..
For my patients, i'd recommend icing it for the first 48 hours , Advil when needed (400mg twice or thrice daily after food for next 2-3 days), massaging gently by a topical gel (eg. Diclofenac), muscle relaxants, avoid heavy lifting and vigorous movements , wearing an arm sling will be effective .
If swelling or pain persists beyond 48hrs, i'd suggest getting an X-ray followed by an MRI to exclude any bone injuries or fissures or even a torn muscle or ligament .
Hope the above information helps you,
Any further clarifications feel free to ask.
Regards
icing it for the first 48 hours prevents swelling while hot massaging decreases it

So yes you may ice it for the next 24 hours 3 times, topical massaging will be fine .
