Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.
I have gone through your investigation reports.EMG says myopathic potentials and Sural snaps are absent on NCV.
I am trying to make a clinical impression in background of normal Cpk levels but I need to know the clinical details beforehand.
Please tell me your clinical history in the follow up query and if possible, please upload the case sheet in which your treating physician noted his examination findings.
Waiting for your follow up.

Brief Answer:
What is the diagnosis?
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being in follow-up.
It seems to be a predominant myopathy component. Is your final diagnosis established? If yes, what is it?I mean, which type of myopathy? Is it a limb girdle type?
Prognosis depends on the diagnosis.
Though,in general,I can say that there is nothing much to offer in treatment for most of the hereditary myopathies. Please continue physiotherapy.
If you have any further question,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread.

Hi doc,
What do you mean by final diagnosis? kindly let me know if i have to go for further diagnosis if any? My doctor asked me to consult physio and do exercise thats it.
If you explain "Sural snaps are absent on NCV" would be much better as dont understand what does this mean.

Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for being in follow-up.
With final diagnosis,I mean that what type of myopathy is this or in other words, what is the cause of myopathy? Is it hereditary-if yes, what type of hereditary myopathy.Different myopathies may have different prognosis.
sural nerve is a sensory nerve responsible for sensations perception in lower limbs. When sural electrical potentials(called as snaps) are absent,it means that sural nerve is not functioning well.
If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to answer.
