Do Girls Have More Sensitive Nipples Than Boys Even Before Puberty?

Hi there, I was just wondering if girls have more sensitive nipples than boys even before puberty . As a nanny, I was lifting a 3 year old girl under her arms to put her into a bath, and as I was doing so, she gave a sharp yelp of pain and covered her nipples with her hands. I was more careful to keep my fingers clear of the area after that but it got me wondering. Cheers.

Hi,
Thank you for your query,
The nipples are densely innervated with sensory nerves so that these are very sensitive to touch and painful stimuli and happens both in boys and girls and before and after puberty.
The type of perception of nipples will be like a mixture of touch, pain and tingling so the children will get a sudden yelp of pain and they try to avoid the the stimuli.
Hope i have answered your query.
