Suggest Treatment For Night Sweats, Depression And Nausea Inspite Of Suffering From SLE
is it due to SLE
Detailed Answer:
Good evening
Thank you for writing on health care magic
Well, i would like to get a few more details on SLE here as the rash, headache and depression all can be a part of the disease if not treated. From the medication list you have mentioned, currently there is no ongoing treatment for SLE.
1. Could you give details on When it was diagnosed?Did you have your antibody screen Positive? What symptoms you had initially for which the doctors labelled it as SLE?
2. Are you experiencing irritability and being short tempered?
3. ANy tendency to forgetfullness?
4. Any history of joint pains/dry eyes or dry mouth??
5. Does the rash on your face get worse on sun exposure
6. Any other comorbid condition
Do let me know these details. As the symptoms you are experiencing can very well be a part of SLE and may be something different we are dealing with. It will help me narrow down to a few possibilities. Also any recent blood tests done would be helpful
Await your reply

had to take disability from teaching due to fatigue 1997
Had head on collision in July., Husband driving and we were hit by uninsured 23 yr. old. Insurance does not want to pay medical due to previous dx of SLE, neurologist, and depression, although everything is MUCH worse since accident. Rarely leave house and now do not want to leave house
After posting questions, I vomited. Not much appetite of late
I am the poster child for every antidepressant-you name it-I have had it. Very depressed and stressed past few days. Recent MRI showed mild atrophy. Having blood test Monday to determine statin. Vit D. def. began taking D2 3xwk. last week. All other blood work was fine. Wondering if this is due to extreme stress. Never in sun.
dry mouth&eyes
bruising easily since accident
body very stiff and yes, joints ache.

Good evening
Sorry for the late reply. Got hung up with some family stuff. Well that is good if your MRI results are normal. I am not too sure about your diagnosis of SLE here and insurance company finding reasons to deny it. If you have been diagnosed with SLE and it has been over 15 years, without medications i m sure it would have flared up.
They symptoms you are describing where you dont feel like going out of house, i feel it is the stress which is getting to you. The fibromyalgia diagnosed before is coming back into the picture again and we should act on it before it makes you further depress.
Since you have tried most of the antidepressants, i will recommend something else which will help combat the pain and fatigue and elevate your mood a bit, but at the same time you will have to cooperate and start getting out of the house. Start doing some activities which you like. Try to be more social and develop a hobby and give time to it.The medications can only work so much, but the rest you will have to do.
I will also suggest you pay a visit to rheumatologist and let him see if you really had SLE. I really doubt that
As for the medication i would recommend Duloxetine or Amitrytilline if you havent tried before.
Do let me know for more queries.
Would be happy to help you out further
